Lee Hyungjun, PIPE FITTING_FLOW: Flow_from the Han River

Flow is not simply movement along a predetermined path, but a process of continually changing direction and finding its own course through relationships with its surroundings. As a river encounters changes in elevation, terrain, and countless environmental conditions, it bends and branches, gradually tracing a line over time.

I focus on these lines formed by nature, incorporating the actual curves and directions of rivers into the forms of my work. Rather than artificially creating new curves, I seek to preserve, as much as possible, the flow that rivers have shaped over long periods of time, observing how nature gives form to itself.

The lines of a river accumulate traces of the time through which water has passed, its relationships with the surrounding environment, and the collisions and transformations it has undergone. This resembles the way our lives unfold: rather than following a single direction determined from the beginning, we encounter countless relationships and events through which we gradually shape our own paths.

The light running through the work makes this flow more visible, existing as a continuous movement passing through the interior of the form.

PIPE FITTING_FLOW does not simply reproduce the outward appearance of a river. Instead, it explores the meaning of "flowing" through the actual courses that nature has shaped over time and through its relationships with the surrounding world.
