모든 사물의 본질은 삶이 규정하고, 삶은 직관이 결정한다.
태초에 우주는 암흑이었고 그 암흑의 빛은 생명을 잉태했다. 생명의 시그널은 색이었고 그 색감은 별의 움직임이 창조했다. 원형과 본질이 존재를 불렀고, 그곳은 바로 아프리카의 동남쪽 트루카나이다.
김광수의 삶은 그를 태초의 자리로 갈 것을 명령했다. 억압과 강요의 지시가 아닌, 김광수의 직감이 내린 이 숭고한 결정에 충실했고 그 여정에서 만난 아프리카의 사막은 그에게 생명의 판타지였다.
아프리카의 밤하늘을 내리 긋는 형형색색의 별들은 우주 생명들의 시작이자 영속성이었다. 찬란한 그 빛은 일상의 상자에 갇힌 우리들 기억의 창고였으며 추억의 능동태였다.
김광수는 자신에게 돌아가고자 하는 직관에 충실하기로 작정하고, 진동의 대지 위에 서서 밤하늘의 별을 직시했다.
김광수에게 트루카나의 별은 구구절절 설명할 수 없는 원초적 직관의 고해성사임을 은밀하게 누설하고 있다.

Life defines the essence of all things, and intuition determines life.
In the beginning, the universe was darkness, and the light within that darkness conceived life. Color was the signal of life, its hues created by the movement of stars. Primal forms and essences called existence into being. That place is Turkana, in East Africa.
Kim Kwang Soo’s life summoned him to return to the beginning. This was neither an oppressive command nor an imposed demand, but a profound decision born of his own intuition. He remained faithful to it, and the African desert he encountered on that journey became, for him, a vision of life’s possibilities.
The multicolored stars streaking down the African night sky embodied both the origins and the continuity of life in the universe. Their radiant light was a storehouse of memories for those of us confined within the routines of daily life—recollection in the active voice.
Determined to follow the intuition that drew him back to himself, Kim stood upon the trembling earth and looked directly at the stars in the night sky.
His work quietly reveals that, for him, the stars of Turkana are a confession of primal intuition, beyond elaborate explanation.
