2026년 8월, 우드플래닛의 아트 섹션에 프리즈 서울 2026 ‘머티리얼 프랙티스(Material Practice)’에 참가하는 스페이스 톤과 한진섭 작가의 이야기가 게재되었습니다.
올해로 5회 차를 맞는 프리즈 서울이 ‘머티리얼 프랙티스 Material Practice’(총괄기획 조혜영) 섹션을 신설해 동시대 미술과 디자인, 그리고 공예가 서로 어우러지는 경계점을 탐색한다. 물질과 물성의 고유함에 의식적 흐름을 사물에 부여함으로써 조각과 오브제에 대한 인식의 지평을 넓히고 미술시장의 다양성과 확장을 도모한다.
매체의 경계에서 상호간의 독보적 지위를 습득하는 ‘머티리얼 프랙티스’ 섹션에 참가하는 갤러리 <스페이스톤>(김현아 관장)은 돌의 본성에 자신의 심성과 조각관을 투사하는 작가로 독보적 지위를 견지하고 있는 한진섭 조각가의 작품을 선보인다.
In August 2026, WOODPLANET’s Art section featured Space Tone and sculptor Han Jin Sub, ahead of the gallery’s participation in Material Practice at Frieze Seoul 2026.
Now in its fifth edition, Frieze Seoul has launched a new section, Material Practice, directed by Hyeyoung Cho, to explore the intersections of contemporary art, design, and craft. By bringing renewed attention to the intrinsic qualities of materials and materiality, the section seeks to broaden perceptions of sculpture and objects while fostering greater diversity and expansion within the art market.
Among the galleries participating in Material Practice, a section that explores the boundaries between artistic mediums and disciplines, Space Tone (Director Hyuna Kim) will present works by sculptor Han Jin Sub, whose distinctive practice projects his sensibility and sculptural philosophy onto the inherent qualities of stone.
