In September 2026, the exhibition preview section featured Clay of Eidos: Absolute Form for Abstraction, the fourth exhibition presented by Space Tone.
Clay of Eidos focuses on the essence and form of things that exist beyond what is immediately visible, through the concept of eidos. Eidos refers to the fundamental form that defines a being beyond individual phenomena perceived through the senses.
In this exhibition, seven ceramic artists use clay as a medium to translate their individual experiences, sensations, and memories into sculptural language. Through representations of the human body, objects, and organic forms, the participating artists expand sensations rooted in personal experience into more universal forms, exploring the relationships between phenomenon and essence, the individual and the universal, and sensation and reason.
Created by bringing the artists’ tactile sensibilities to clay dust, masses, surfaces, and material properties, the works give visible form to intangible memories, sensations, and inner structures. Rather than treating clay simply as a material, the exhibition approaches it as a medium through which existence and form can be examined, highlighting the abstract possibilities inherent in ceramic sculpture.
